Backstory Talks: Rosa Ribas

This month’s pick for our Local Literature in Translation Book Club is Far by Rosa Ribas, and we’re thrilled to announce a special visit from the author herself! This is a unique opportunity to meet Ribas, dive into the themes of her gripping novel, and ask her questions about the writing process, her inspirations, and the social commentary woven into the story.

Far, published by Foundry Editions, is set in an unfinished residential development in Spain, a haunting reflection of the country’s economic crisis. The novel explores the lives of a small, isolated community struggling with broken dreams, societal divisions, and unexpected human connections.

During this special book club session, Rosa Ribas will join us for an in-depth discussion about her novel, her transition from noir fiction to this more socially charged narrative, and what it means to have Far translated into English for the first time.
