Join us for a special evening with acclaimed Argentine author Gabriela Cabezón Cámara, as we celebrate the English-language release of her electrifying novel We Are Green and Trembling (translated by Robin Myers and published by New Directions Publishing). Gabriela will be joined in conversation by writer and journalist Aaron Shulman.
About the Author
Gabriela Cabezón Cámara is one of the most vital voices in Latin American literature today. A novelist, journalist, and environmental activist, her writing confronts colonialism, gender, marginalization, and repression with sharp intellect and poetic force. Her acclaimed novel The Adventures of China Iron was shortlisted for the International Booker Prize and the Médicis Prize, and in 2024 she received the Ciutat de Barcelona Prize for Literature for Las niñas del naranjel. Her work spans from intimate stories to sweeping, genre-defying epics — always with a fierce social conscience and a spirit of radical transformation.
