Join us for an evening with bestselling author, visual storyteller, and award-winning travel photographer Lola Akinmade Åkerström.


Based in Stockholm, Lola has reported from more than 80 countries and her work has appeared in publications including National Geographic, The New York Times, The Guardian, BBC, CNN, Travel + Leisure, and Lonely Planet. Her books explore themes of identity, belonging, migration, and the complexities of navigating the world across cultures.


She is the author of several acclaimed titles including the international bestseller Lagom: The Swedish Secret of Living Well, the Lowell Thomas Gold Award-winning travel book Due North, and the critically acclaimed novels In Every Mirror She’s Black and Everything Is Not Enough.
