About the event

Ana Viladomiu was born in Barcelona and studied at the Faculty of Geography and History. A lifelong and passionate reader, she pursued a variety of professions before dedicating herself to writing. She later honed her craft at the Writers' School at the Ateneu de Barcelona.


Her literary journey has been one of exploration and perseverance, but her novel inspired by La Pedrera holds a special place. Having lived in the iconic building for many years, Ana draws deeply on its history, atmosphere and everyday life. Often referred to as "the last tenant" of La Pedrera, she has transformed her unique experience of the extraordinary building into stories that weave together memory, architecture and human connection. Her novel, The Last Tenant, was originally published in Catalan in 2019 and translated to English by Robert Strange.
