Join us as we welcome Nick Lloyd to celebrate the launch of his new book Travels Through the Spanish Civil War (published by Hurst Publishers). Drawing from his acclaimed work with Spanish Civil War Tours, Nick takes us on a journey through Catalonia and Aragón—landscapes once shaped by conflict and resistance.
Through visits to battle sites, museums, memorials, and quiet corners where history still lingers, Travels Through the Spanish Civil War uncovers how the echoes of the past continue to shape the present. From a small plaque in Barcelona commemorating photographer Francesc Boix, to the haunting ruins of Belchite, Nick explores how stories of courage and tragedy are remembered—or forgotten.
Nick will be joined in conversation by Lorne Walker-Nolan, a local academic whose research bridges literature, politics, and cultural memory. Together, they will reflect on why the Spanish Civil War still resonates deeply today—not only in Spain, but across the world.
