Everyone has a story.

At Overheard, you’re encouraged to tell yours. All you have to do is throw your name in the hat for a chance to be called up to the mic. If your name is called, you’ll stand up to tell a true story in 10 minutes or less based on the night’s theme. Don’t get a chance to tell your story? There’s always next time, but we’ll also ask any storytellers who weren’t called to share their story’s first, last, or best line with us.

In honor of Backstory’s anniversary, and because the new year is still fresh, our theme this month is Rebirth. Each new year offers us a chance to at least feel like we get to start again, whether we desire to become new versions of ourselves or simply adopt a new habit.
