About the event
Few writers have left a more profound footprint upon world literature than William Shakespeare. Whether you're new to the Bard or have read many of his works, this pop-up book club is your opportunity to revisit one of the greatest authors in history and to delve into some of the plays you perhaps have not encountered so far.
This month, we'll be delving into The Tempest, which is neither a comedy nor a tragedy but rather a strange midpoint between the two. It belongs to the rich literary tradition of the 'Enchanted island.' The play has been highly popular among different writers such as Shelley and Keats and in fact the title of Aldous Huxley's 'Brave New Word' is a direct citation from its pages. Why has it captivated the imagination of so many artists? Read the play and share your thoughts in a guided discussion.
