Storytelling Without Screens

Come to a “digital detox” literary spa day! We’ll play some interactive games and explore techniques successful writers and public speakers use to bring their stories to life. Then, we’ll write our own short tales — with a twist. Bring pen, paper, your imagination, and a desire for face-to-face communication without screens.

The workshop will be led by Brent Sverdloff, who has taught language and literature courses at colleges in the U.S. He has told stories at professional conferences and story slams like The Moth, and also served as the Executive Director of an improvisational theater company in San Francisco. Brent is the author of How Could I Forget You! A Creative Way to Remember Names and Faces and Off Book: Memorization Secrets from Performing Artists. Both books will be available for purchase at the event (cash or Bizum).
