About the hosts:
Marianne Maili is an author and professor. She pioneered the acceptance of creative dissertation work in Spain when she earned a groundbreaking PhD in The Construction and Representation of Cultural Identities at the University of Barcelona. In addition to teaching and editing, she is known for the award-winning novel Lucy, go see. (2018) and the creative memoir I am home. (2023), which chronicles her return to the US after more than two decades abroad. In it, she explores where “home" really is. Before becoming a mother then a graduate student, Marianne traveled extensively throughout the world working as a model and actress and has made homes in the USA, France, and Spain, along with shorter-term homes working in Japan, Hong Kong, and Austria. She has lived in Barcelona since last year.
