The Poetry Hive

A gathering for anyone interested in poetry, whether you write regularly or are a beginner. Together we'll read and discuss two poems from artists around the world, using them as a starting point for conversation and reflection. Then, through two guided writing prompts, you'll have the chance to explore your own voice. For those who so wish to, there will be opportunities to share your work.

Please remember to bring a notebook and a pen.

About the host:

Ioana Lungu is a poet, spoken word artist and host of Gypsy Lounge, a monthly open mic event. Her work explores themes of identity and belonging, language, femininity and ancestral heritage. She believes that poetry is not only a way to get closer to the world or pay more conscious attention, but a companion, a bridge between people, a break to pause and reflect together, in community.
